The European Union- Zambia Business Club (EUZBC) was pleased to host The Year-In-Review “New Dawn One Year Later – What was promised, what has been achieved and what needs to be done?” held on September 7th 2022. The event was aimed at reviewing the business environment in the country since the new Zambian Government came into office in August 2021. It was also an opportunity for key Government Ministries to share insights on possible policy and regulatory measures that will be prioritised in the next budget cycle.
Ninety (90) participants attended, including members of the EUZBC, representatives of Foreign Embassies and High Commissions present in Zambia, and representatives from the Ministry of Commerce Trade and Industry and the Ministry of Finance and National Planning.
The European Union-Zambia Business Club (EUZBC) held a Meet and Greet cocktail event on May 17th, 2022 at the Lusaka National Museum, taking the opportunity to view the exhibition “Building an Art Bridge between Zambia and Italy”. The event was held under the theme, “Promoting Business through Partnership and Engagement”.
This prelude event to the EU–Zambia Economic Forum 2022 aimed to give an opportunity for EUZBC members to engage with key officials from the Zambian Government in the run-up to the main business forum.

European Union – Zambia Business Club and the Government confer on fostering Private Sector Development & Green Economy
On 25th November 2021, the European Union Zambia Business Club (EUZBC) organised a roundtable with the Government, to elaborate on opportunities of a “green economy” in Zambia for the private sector. The Minister of Small & Medium Enterprises (SME), Honourable Elias Mubanga and the Minister of Green Economy & Environment, Honourable Collins Nzovu, participated to the exchanges. More than 100 members of the EUZBC also participated to the discussion.
On 5 December 2019, the EU-Zambia Business Club, chaired by President Mr Henk Mulder, organised an interactive, lively brainstorming session on the Energy Reforms. The EU Ambassador H.E. Jacek Jankowski and over 60 companies on the Government’s energy reform agenda attended to discuss this hot topic.
The EUZBC organised a 2020 budget and economic outlook event on 31 November 2019 aimed at critically analysing the impact of the 2020 budget from a business perspective. Panelists from the World Bank and PricewaterHouse coopers participated in a discussion giving their expert views on the budget.
On 18 July 2019, the EUZBC organised an event to discuss the New Employment Code enacted by Government effective 9 May 2019. The event was graced by the Labour Commissioner, Mr Chanda Kaziya. The objective of the event was to engage the Zambian government on issues relating to the newly introduced employment code and its impact on business.
On 28 May 2019, the European Union, in collaboration with the European Union Business Club (EUZBC), successfully launched the European External Investment Plan (EIP) for Zambia as part of the ongoing outreach missions. The event was officially opened by the Minister of Commerce, Trade and Industry, Hon. Christopher Yaluma
